Cloud Engineer & DevOps Lead
Jens Inghelbrecht
Designing and governing Azure infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code — turning deployment chaos into repeatable, reviewable, reliable systems.
About
I'm a cloud engineer with five years of hands-on experience and the unofficial DevOps lead within my team. My focus is designing and planning Infrastructure as Code deployments built on Bicep — including the deployment flow and file structure that let a growing codebase stay maintainable as more engineers contribute to it.
I'm also a member of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) at Savaco, where a small group of experts and I define the baseline standards for our organization's Azure infrastructure — the guardrails and patterns that every subsequent deployment builds on.
My path here wasn't planned from day one. I started at Savaco as an intern, grew into a Datacenter Engineer role, then moved into DevOps Engineering — and stepped up to DevOps Lead as colleagues who held that role moved on. Each step added a layer of ownership, from racking hardware to defining how an entire organization deploys its cloud infrastructure.
Skills & Services
Infrastructure as Code
Designing and planning IaC deployments in Bicep and ARM — owning deployment flow, module structure, and file organization as the codebase scales.
Azure Cloud Architecture
Contributing to the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE), helping set the baseline standards and guardrails for Azure infrastructure across the organization.
DevOps Leadership
Leading DevOps practice and direction for the team, balancing hands-on delivery with mentoring, process, and pipeline ownership.
Datacenter Engineering
A foundation in hands-on datacenter operations, giving cloud architecture decisions a grounding in real infrastructure constraints.
Experience
-
DevOps Lead
Savaco
Stepped into the DevOps Lead role. Own the direction of IaC deployment strategy and represent the team's DevOps practice within the CCoE.
-
DevOps Engineer
Savaco
Designed and built Infrastructure as Code deployments in Bicep, taking ownership of deployment flow and file structure as the team's IaC footprint grew.
-
Datacenter Engineer
Savaco
Grew from Support Engineer into a full datacenter engineering role, building the hands-on infrastructure foundation for a private cloud environment.
-
Service & Support Engineer
Savaco
Provided second-line support, assisting in resolving issues and tickets escalated beyond first-line — building the troubleshooting instincts and infrastructure knowledge that carried into datacenter engineering.
-
Intern
Savaco
Started at Savaco as an intern — the first step on a five-year path through datacenter engineering into cloud and DevOps leadership.
Highlighted Work
CCoE Azure Baseline
Working alongside Azure experts within the Cloud Center of Excellence to define the baseline infrastructure standards adopted across all subsequent Azure deployments.
Bicep Deployment Framework
Owned the design of the deployment flow and file structure for the team's Bicep-based Infrastructure as Code, enabling consistent, scalable deployments.
